Free Services and Permit Assistance for Sidewalk Vendors in the City of LA!
The City of Los Angeles Community Investment Department (CID), in partnership with ICON CDC, is committed to supporting sidewalk vendors and helping them build sustainable businesses.
The Sidewalk Vending Cart Program provides eligible vendors with access to vending carts, permitting and compliance assistance, and business resources designed to help them operate safely and strengthen their businesses.
What We Offer
Permitting and Compliance Assistance: We help vendors understand and navigate the steps required to meet County and City requirements. Our team provides support with applications, required documentation, health and safety regulations, and business licensing, including:
○ Business Tax Registration Certificate (BTRC)
Vending Carts: Eligible vendors may receive vending carts designed to support safe and compliant sidewalk vending operations. Cart availability is subject to program requirements and available funding.
Workshops & Training: Informational workshops and one-on-one training sessions to help you better understand the permit process, how to stay compliant, and financial resources to grow your business.
