El Patrón Restaurant Rebuilds After the Eaton Fire

The Eaton Fire brought unimaginable hardship to Neddie Morales and her family, owners of El Patron Mexican Food Restaurant, Inc. As a family-operated business, the restaurant is their sole source of income. Every day, Neddie, her husband, and their children work together to keep the business running. When the fire forced the restaurant to close, their income came to an abrupt halt. Overnight, the financial stability they had worked so hard to build disappeared due to circumstances completely beyond their control.

The challenges did not end there. Powerful winds accompanying the fire severely damaged the restaurant’s roof. When heavy rains followed shortly afterward, water began leaking into the building, creating additional damage and unexpected repair costs during an already devastating time.

The $10,000 Los Angeles County Launch grant provided much-needed financial relief during this difficult period. While it cannot replace all lost income or fully cover the extensive damages, it has made a meaningful difference. The funding has helped offset a portion of the repair expenses and financial losses, allowing the Morales family to focus on rebuilding their business and continuing to serve the community they have proudly supported for years.

For family-owned businesses like  El Patron Mexican Food Restaurant, Inc.  , this grant represents more than financial assistance—it is a symbol of hope, resilience, and the community’s commitment to helping local businesses recover and move forward after the Eaton Fire.
