Restoring Stability to Sol & Luna Divine Altar: How Strategic Support Helped the Business Move Forward
In 2018, Miriam Bayas launched Sol & Luna Divine Altar, a retail business offering gemstones, oils, incense, and spiritual goods. Over time, external challenges—including the impact of COVID-19 and ongoing economic disruptions—significantly reduced customer traffic and revenue, placing her business at risk. Seeking support, Miriam connected with the NV BusinessSource Center to stabilize operations and explore opportunities for growth.
The Senior Business Consultant provided Business Planning & Operations Management services, including an Operational Efficiency & Needs Assessment to evaluate her business model and identify areas for improvement. Miriam also received Regulatory Compliance assistance, ensuring her licenses and permits were current and her business remained in good standing. Through Access to Capital services, the Consultant guided her through the application process for the Los Angeles County DEO Small Business Resiliency Grant, providing hands-on support with preparation and submission, which resulted in a successful award of $5,000 to help cover rent and operating expenses.
To support long-term growth, Miriam also received Contracting & Procurement assistance, successfully registering on the RAMP LA platform, and was referred to LA Optimized 2.0 to establish an online presence and expand her customer reach. Additionally, through Business Planning services, she obtained an EIN to strengthen her financial structure. With improved operations, access to funding, and new growth tools, Miriam’s business is now more stable and better positioned for long-term success.
