Socorro Manzano: Tacos Manzano

Socorro Manzano, a seasoned entrepreneur with over a decade of experience, operates a beloved family restaurant in North Hollywood, originally opened by her brother in 2000. After serving the community for over 20 years, the business faced significant challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, Socorro reconnected with the South Valley BusinessSource Center (SV BSC), where a consultant assessed her needs and crafted a customized support plan focused on stabilizing operations, retaining employees, and paving the way for growth.

Through the South Valley BusinessSource Center, Socorro secured a $20,000 City of LA Legacy Business Grant to restructure her operations. She was also referred to a business partner for assistance in obtaining her ABC liquor license and successfully completed the Responsible Beverage Service Training Program to ensure compliance. The consultant also helped her coordinate Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for her staff and registered her in the City of LA’s RAMP system to pursue public contracts. To strengthen her procurement skills, she enrolled in a 4-week Spanish-language workshop.

Today, with support from the BusinessSource Center, Socorro is expanding her services, hiring new staff, and building a more resilient business. Her story reflects the power of targeted small business assistance and her deep commitment to her family’s legacy and the community. Visit her restaurant in North Hollywood to experience the results firsthand at: 11160 Burbank Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91601 (818) 623-9599
